Hi! My name is Shauna Cullen and I am an aspiring animator studying in Ballyfermot College in Dublin, Ireland. I love all things creative and not only develop character designs and short stories, but I do commissioned pieces and typography.
Having completed a one year introduction course in animation in Ballyfermot, Dublin, Ireland I decided to earn a degree in Media and German in D.I.T, Dublin. Having grown up in Sri - Lanka; I have a huge interest in international politics and decided to complete a Masters in Media and International Conflict in The Clinton Institute in UCD, Dublin. I now find myself back in Ballyfermot completing my animation course. An eternal student!
Having worked through college, my 7 year experience as a floor manager at an award winning Bar and Restaurant has prepared me for a production-oriented role. I have developed various skills from this position as I have to interact with customers daily, interview new staff, train in new staff and maintain a high level of service on the floor, all the while ensuring the customer is having a positive experience.
Apart from my experience in hospitality, my Masters degree from the University College Dublin in Media and International Conflict has also prepared me for strict deadlines, working effectively under pressure and problem solving.
I believe that my background in animation, coupled with my substantial experience in hospitality, has prepared me for a production orientated position and I am always eager to learn more and can adapt and take direction well. I take pride in my innate leadership potential and feel my fellow students can attest to how I motivate other people to do their tasks, and involve everyone in working towards the common goal.
Enjoy :)
